THE TIME FACEBOOK LET ME KNOW RAPE IS MY FAULT AND THE MERE EXISTENCE OF MY BODY IS BEING ASKED TO BE VIOLATED
THE ONLY WAY TO READ THIS IS TO READ FROM TOP TO FINISH.
I posted the above post on Facebook and Instagram last night. Then Facebook removed it.
And I was told that Facebook restricts nudity
And then my account was shut down and I was asked to do this:
And then I was asked what went wrong? How could it be better?
To which I responded:
How dare Facebook police and censor women's bodies like that? I posted in solidarity of the rape victim who faced an incredible injustice. FEMALE NIPPLES ARE LEGAL AND WHEN YOU CENSOR AND SHUT THEM DOWN LIKE THAT. When you IMMEDIATELY say women's nipples are pornographic, you are shaming us for expressing our voices. You are shaming us for having a woman's body. You would never shut down men's nipples this way--only women--YOU ARE TELLING ME THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY BODY and I NEED TO COVER UP. You are letting the world know that I have to cover up but men don't. And if I don't cover up, then I am to be punished for it. Facebook, you have encouraged rape mentality with this behavior, And I'm disappointed in you. Women's nipples are legal and yet you feel the need to censor them and punish me.
THEN INSTAGRAM TOOK THE POST DOWN
So then I covered up my areola and made a less rapeable version of the image.
But nothing can be made less rapeable--nothing should be getting raped in the first place. Period. End of the story. Rape is never the victim's fault.
